Lavender Essential Oil Supports A Normal Blood Pressure In Your Doctor’s Office

Lavender for white coat hypertension

Lavender Essential Oil for White Coat Hypertension

My husband used an inhaler of Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) before his blood pressure was taken at his doctors office.

Usually his blood pressure is elevated in the doctors office but not anywhere else, even the emergency room. Lavender essential oil supports a normal blood pressure.

White Coat Hypertension

White coat hypertension in a common phenomenon where an individuals blood pressure is slightly or significantly elevated when it is taken in their health care providers office.  These folks usually complain “but it’s normal at home”.

There are mixed thoughts about the cause of white coat hypertension.  Some think it is anxiety driven and not a concern.  Others think that these people are at risk for chronic hypertension.  The jury is out.

According to Mayo Clinic: If you experience white coat hypertension, you may also have a higher risk of developing certain cardiovascular problems compared with people who have normal blood pressure at all times.

The University of California at Berkeley sites a couple of studies showing that “white coat hypertension” can be an indicator of future heart disease.

The Cure for White Coat Hypertension

There isn’t one.

Some things that are mentioned as being helpful are:

  • cognitive behavioral therapy
  • medication to relax
  • blood pressure medicine (this is risky because you may get very low blood pressure when not in a stressful situation)
  • meditation
  • deep breathing

Lavender Essential Oil for White Coat Hypertension

Let me share this story.

Two weeks ago, my husband woke up in the middle of the night with chest pain.  It didn’t sound cardiac to me and his vitals were fine but he insisted on EMS. (This increased my blood pressure). No major finding by EMS but we went to the ER anyway. Normal cardiac enzymes are always reassuring.

The entire time he was there (needle sticks, monitors and all) his blood pressure was in the 120’s/70’s. He slept on the stretcher.

Two days later he is at the cardiologist office.  BP 146/84.  Really?  His blood pressure always goes up at the doctors office.

He went through stress testing and echocardiogram with a normal blood pressure (and Lavender on board).

We went back for results today.  I had him inhale some Lavender Essential Oil from an inhaler (about 12 drops in the inhaler). Lavender on a tissue would have worked as well. Anyway, his blood pressure was 124/76.

Understand that my husband is a sceptic. He is always amazed that any oil does anything.

What can I say?

Will this work for everyone?  Nothing works for everyone, not even the best most expensive drugs in the world. However, if you purchase quality oils (not from big box retail stores) your chance of a great outcome is pretty good.

Three Essential Oil Scammers Exposed on Amazon

I’m sharing this video because I think it is important for the public to be aware of, and see scammers exposed for what they are.

Every oil seller will tell you they are pure and so on.

They are marketers. They are not going to tell you differently.

Take the time to watch this video in it’s entirety.

This does not reflect on Amazon.

It is not their business to make sure sellers have integrity.
